
Our Spring Test was held a Hawarden Estate, by the kind permission of Sir William Gladstone and his gamekeeper Gerry Evans.
The day was dry with a strong breeze the ground was spaniel heaven, lots of bracken in open woodland.
Our judges for the novice were Jon Bailey and David Ferrier and for the Open John Edwards and David Ferrier.
Our novice entry was 24 dogs and for Open 22 a mixture of both Cockers and Springers.
The novice standard overall was very high as can b e seen from the number of awards.
The judges were able to test all the dogs on the lovely ground and after a very close run off between Joe Shotton and David Moore the following awards were made.

The Hawarden Cup was presented by Natasa Fazekas a visitor from Hungry to Joe Shotton.
After lunch we ran the Open test where the tests asked a little more of the dogs and handlers.
The judges called for the 3 dogs to run off Simon Ryder, Steve Kelsall and Stan Pearson, the following final places were made.
